You can modify the linear KU LNB (one meant for 121W) by taking off the 'white' plastic cover and insert a piece of plastic into the circular neck. Mine already has 4 slots such that the plastic piece can be inserted at +45 or -45 degrees. I can't remember what angle it was; but only one orientation would give me signal. The plastic I used is cut from an old bank card.
With a large Bev dish (24x26), signal strength ranges from 45 to 65 on the signal bar of a Dish 2700 receiver (120 full scale.) I couldn't get any signal from a 20" dish.
I used a regular LNB to aim for 119 first then replaced with the modified LNB. The Dish 2700 receiver is good for aiming because it will identify the satellite name. You may hvae to skew the antenna a bit to optimize signal strengths between various transponders. The modified LNB will only show signal strength for 118W satellite; no signal strength when switched to 119W. So you'll only get 118W channels with a Dish receiver. However, when used with a FTA receiver, you'll be able to scan it both 118W and 119W channels.

There now appear to be legacy-compatible FSS LNBs with an LO of 10.750 which do circular down to 11.70

Using the 121 FSS LNB from a super dish and converting it to circular as described above, is another way to get it done.
That would be dishPro compatible.

Big Red is right it is easier to make a circular lnbf by add a plastic or fiber block to a linear lnbf than removing mat'l from a circular to make it linear. I've converted linear c-band lnbf's to circular for fta east birds. Not hard, forget about trying to move the lof unless you are a E.E. read read..... sorry about the grammer and spelling but it has been a high point beer night

It is for circular polarity satellites and it is a wide band LNB 11.7-12.75ghz, so can get 118w TPs as well as 119w TPs at the same time, if using a 30" dish, 118w is still a lower powered sat.

Could I get some more information on the conversion please? I know for 121W one you can uncouple LNBF assy from the front section by removing the 6 bolts in the middle then jamming a place of plastic in the square side(121W side) but what about other LNBF, such as starchoice ones?

No need of adding anything anywhere, just move the 121 LNBF to 119's position, and if you like, 119 to 121 by removing the 4 hex bolts. This works, because 119's wave guide is meant for circular polarities. I also tried turning the 121 LNBF 45 deg ccw but then I couldn't put all 4 bolts in place.

Is it possible to get 118.7 & 119 together on legacy receivers like the 2700 or 2800? My 2800 only shows 118.8 and not 119 afer doing Check Switch. However when I use any FTA receiver there is no problem getting both 118.7 and 119 satellites.

Has anyone successfully get both 118.7 and 119 working on legacy receivers using those new LNBs?

EL_Pirata, the LNBs on the dish500+, dish1000+ and dish1000.2 are all circular polarization. (And my supperdishes are all in the Kenmore )
