Don't know about the diplexer, but for the mesh, that's a fact!

I am sure the diplexor will work as it sort of performs the same function but the splitter is the proper thing to be using as long as it only passes power on one side.

Default YES, an FTA Reciever can be connected to big dish - 13th October 2009, 11:39 PM

YES, it works great...

Converted two (2) old ones, a 8' and a 12'.... neither had moved in years.

Replaced the analog C LNB with a new combo C/KU (Bsc621-2D), used the existing FTA box and existing 4 port switch. Control the BUD actuator with a GBox V3000 - connects in-line with FTA box...I used a Viewsat.

..AWESOME...

I am in process of setting up a bud (again) after many years. If I want to add Azbox elite to dsr922, I assume let dsr control dish, what switches do i need to tie the two together, I am confused, will have both c and ku lnbs

Run the lnb out to the bud reciever. If you run c/ku on the bud, then you need two power pass splitters and a disqc switch. The bud is hooked to the power side of the switches as your bud reciever powers the bud lnbs. The fta reciever only catches the signal. The bud reciever controls the polarity of the lnbs, and the moving of the dish. If you need a drawing give me a pm. Maybe I can send you the switch layout I have. I run 61.5, 82, 91, 110, 119, c-bnd and ku off the bud. I use 2 diseqc switches, two power pass splitters, & 1 sw-21. With all that I could still add one more bird as I have one port left on a diseqc switch.
If you hook up to a bud like I am, you will pull in the world!
Hope this helps.

Sorry for not seeing this sooner. They are working on the 4D so it will continue to work with the subs on W5. We do not know for sure if a remap of the 4D's will affect the sat maps or not. We hope to have an answer soon on that one. If a Master reset is done on the W5 bird, the tests show that the generic birds are gone. Also the current birds are also gone. You would only have the basic old icons to use thus making the use as a positioner no good. However at this time we don't know. We all are waiting to see how this will pan out so have patience. Have a great day!

Remember, I'm pullin for ya, We're all in this together.
