What Are The Forum Rules & Guidelines?

These forums are designed to allow people from all around the world to come and talk about numerous subjects without restrictions that so many places enforce on you. That being said, in order to keep a descent level of decorum and make these forums a pleasant place to visit we have to have a few rules.

  1. Your account must have a valid email address at all times. You will need this if you have trouble accessing your account or you want to have email notifications sent to you. This does not have to be a personal account, we do not mind if you use free email providers like hotmail or yahoo for more privacy.

  2. No obscene abusive or vulgar language. This includes usernames. Remember there could be juveniles reading.

  3. No personal flaming, bashing or similar against other members, moderators or admin. People may have strong views about a subject but it serves no purpose when it turns into a personal flame war. Take it to PM's or Email.

  4. No advertising in your posts, signatures or unsolicited PM's. This includes direct links to commercial sites. For advertising see http://id-advertising.com

  5. No UCE/SPAM in the Forums, the PM system or the forums email features.

  6. No direct clickable links to sites outside of ours that may not like these forums. Try replacing http with h**p in the link. That way it will display the URL but it will not be clickable.

  7. All PM's sent to Admin's will be answered in the order received.

  8. No posting of personal information, yours or someone else's. This is for your safety, not ours.

  9. No bin begging in a forum, by PM or email.

  10. No 'Me Too' posts. This is very bad practice, it is very frustrating to try & read such threads. Use Private Messaging instead.

  11. No inappropriate avatars, IE: Nude or Grotesque etc. Again this relates to possibility of younger members visiting.

  12. No harassing members, Moderators or admin through PM's or the forums email features.

  13. No continued behaviour that disrupts the site's goal of fun, good information, and friendly help.

Ok enough of the rules now some guidelines

  1. For Your Security when considering a password, consider one of a minimum of 10 characters, that is a mix of small letters, Cap letters and numbers, with no words/names etc in it. Also consider changing it regularly. We need to work harder to make this board a better and more secure place.

  2. Search is your friend, use it. Not only does it stop clutter but it can result in you getting an answer quicker.

  3. Post in the correct forum(s) and only post the same question once (within a reasonable time span). This is especially enforced in the buying forum. Failure can result in your post being moved. You may bump posts with no responses in case it was missed by others but do not overuse it. To bump a post simply reply to it with the word bump.

  4. Signatures must be of a reasonable size and content.

  5. Don't PM the admin and moderators regarding information that can be asked and answered in the forums. If you do they will simply be deleted without a response.

We realise that people will not always remember the rules so failure to adhere to them will result in a friendly warning being sent to you. Then persistent offenders run the risk of suspension or permanent ban. Obviously some rule breaches will warrant a more severe action than others.

Decisions made by the moderators are in most cases 100% backed by the admin.

If you wish to respond to any decisions made you may do so but keep it civil and calm headed. Make you points clear and informative. Loud abusive rambling will not help you, it will just make things worse.

These Rules and Guidelines are subject to change at any time.
